Mississauga Sports Council

The Mississauga Sports Council, established in 1983, is “a not-for-profit group dedicated to the promotion and development of sports in the City of Mississauga. The Council is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by a full-time Executive Director."


Active for Life

Active for Life is a Canadian not-for-profit social enterprise with a national initiative specifically created to help parents give their children the right start in life through the development of physical literacy.


Active Living, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care

The Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care encourages participation in sport, recreation and physical activity for the health, social and economic benefits.


Canadian Sport for Life

The purpose of the Sport for Life movement is to improve the quality of sport and physical activity in Canada. It links sport, education, recreation, health and aligns with community, provincial and national programming.

National Coaching Certificate Program (NCCP)

The National Coaching Certification Program is a coaching skill development training program open to all forms of coaches. The NCCP is offered through the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC).

The CAC is committed to raising the skills and importance of coaches and increasing their reach and influence. Through its programs, the CAC empowers coaches with knowledge and skills, promotes ethics, fosters positive attitudes, builds competence and increases the credibility and recognition of coaches.


Parks and Recreation Ontario

Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the health, social and environmental benefits of quality recreation and parks practices, resources and partnerships.


High Five®

High Five®, founded by PRO, is Canada’s only comprehensive quality standard for children’s sport and recreation programs. It is based on five principles of healthy child development that are essential for quality programs; Caring Adult, Friends, Participation, Play and Mastery. The High Five training offered in Ontario ensures that sport and recreation practitioners develop a high level of knowledge and expertise in child development and provides the tools for enhancing and maintaining a high level of program quality. Organizations and individuals can be involved through training, becoming a registered High Five organization or an accredited organization. ParaSport Ontario

ParaSport Ontario was created to support the development and promotion of the Paralympic movement in Ontario. ParaSport Ontario promotes parallel opportunities in sport for athletes with a physical disability.


Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport

  • Seeks to increase investment in Ontario's tourism industry.
  • Works in partnership with our agencies, attractions, boards and commissions, the tourism industry, other ministries, other levels of government and the private sector.
